THE STORY BEHIND
Studio Masami
The name Masami combines the Japanese characters 成 (masa), meaning "become", and 美 (mi), meaning "beautiful".
Studio Masami opened in Honolulu in 2018 with a focus on creating soft, natural-looking brow tattoos. Located in Honolulu, we aim to provide a comfortable, professional setting where every appointment is thoughtfully tailored to each individual client.
Our studio is also home to a small group of independent beauty and wellness professionals, each operating their own business within private suites.

Every appointment with Studio Masami is personally provided by Alana. From your initial consultation to follow-up questions after your procedure, you'll receive customized artistry and attentive care. Never rushed, never handed off.
Meet Your Artist
Alana is the owner and artist behind Studio Masami. She began her career as an esthetician, developing a strong foundation in skin types and how the skin responds to treatment. Her own experiences with cosmetic brow tattooing later inspired her to create a more comfortable, professional approach centered on natural-looking results.
Alana began specializing in cosmetic brow tattooing in 2017 and opened Studio Masami in 2018, guided by a simple belief: the best brow tattoo is the one that doesn't look like a tattoo. She began offering training courses in 2019 and continues to attend advanced education to stay current with evolving techniques and styles.
After welcoming her daughter in 2021, Alana intentionally limited her availability to focus on motherhood. As her daughter begins preschool, she is gradually expanding her schedule and developing an updated training curriculum.
